Despite our need to simplify and generalise absolutely everyone and everything in this life, humans are intrinsically impossible to simplify

We are never just good or just bad. We are mosaics of our worst selves and our best selves, our deepest secrets and our favourite stories to tell at a dinner party, existing somewhere between our well-lit profile photo and our drivers licensee shot. We are all a mixture of selfishness and generosity, loyalty and self-preservation, pragmatism and impulsiveness.

Every person reveals a glimpse of the Father

A different aspect of His love for us: be it His playfulness, His compassion, His loyalty, His joviality, His generosity, His love for others, His strength and fortitude.

I give you a sanitised version of me, always

Keywords: Commentary . authentic , LughLana , 2021 , voice , speaking , connection

The price of inauthenticity, is that you will fall between the cracks of letters you write, the syllables of words you speak. You will degrade the essence of who you are, and you will degrade the bridge upon which others can reach you as you do, you will make yourself an island.

I would be too happy to complain about anyone or anything ever again

I know I rant about this and that sometimes(bear with me please), that is because, apart from my passion for writing which drove me to create this website over 3 years ago, another reason I put up my site at WordPress.com was simply to have a platform for venting. Can you relate? Perhaps, I should have know then that this website was going to be my diary, where I scribble this and that of every day of my life.

What’s happening in that very moment is all they can relate to, and so imagining things to be worse doesn’t come easy nor does it always help

Keywords: faith , emotional , perspective , reality , routine

So often perspective is what we use to help others see things differently. We might say “at least…” and then fill in the blank with some worse circumstance that could be happening. But maybe, just maybe it’s not the most helpful way to comfort someone. Because the “at least’s” aren’t their reality.

Recognizing the value of your repeat customers can ultimately lead to a more predictable profit cycle, allowing you to better understand your points of success and market your business more effectively

While businesses will always strive to welcome new customers, shifting your marketing strategy towards your most dedicated visitors can carry a wide range of benefits – and, in turn, they can even market your business to new customers for you.

Positive relationships are healing and where growth and change can happen

Keywords: Relationship Working, Social Work

Being loved, respected, understood and connected to others can have a positive effect on your health, just as feeling alone, judged and overwhelmed shuts down our brains and bodies to function effectively. It’s sad but true that often social work intervention leaves too many families alone judged and overwhelmed; is it any wonder they struggle to make the changes local authorities expect to see?

When online ‘help’ doesn’t relate to the problem

Amazon, internet market, Neoliberalism, Services, Stupidity

Matthew Wright's avatarMatthew Wright

Have you ever tried to get help from one of the
web-companies we seem to be increasingly dealing with – only to discover the
response is totally disconnected from the problem?

It seems to be happening more and more lately. Something goes
wrong in their automated systems at the server-side end (their doing), leaving
you frustrated and unable to resolve an issue. You get hold of the company,
only to get a form-style reply back from a service desk operator which assumes
you simply don’t know how their system works, or the fault’s at your end.

I’ve had that a few times with my ISP. I’ve suddenly lost
internet connection – boom! Dead! Every time, I’ve got hold of my supplier, and
been informed that if the fault is in my home phone wiring, I’ll have to pay
some swingeing rate per hour…
